Mediterranean Cypress – Icon of Tuscany, Symbol of Eternity & Fast-Growing Privacy Screen

No other tree is as characteristic of Mediterranean landscapes as the Mediterranean Cypress (Cupressus sempervirens): Its elegant, columnar shape defines the Tuscan landscape and has been found for centuries near churches and cemeteries – as a symbol of mourning, hope, and the eternal cycle of life.

The cypress is fast-growing: 4 to 6 meters in 10 years are possible. Young plants should be protected from severe frost, while older specimens are significantly more cold-resistant. It thrives best in a semi-shady location with moderate soil moisture – evergreen all year round.
