Arborvitae (Thuja) – evergreen hedging plant, privacy screen & shingle wood

Arborvitae (Thuja occidentalis) is the most popular evergreen hedging plant in German gardens: thanks to its exceptional pruning tolerance and winter hardiness, it can be perfectly shaped into a dense privacy and wind screen. It remains green all year round and grows both as a shrub and as a stately tree.

Its wood is durable and weather-resistant – traditionally used for roof shingles. When crushed, the shoots have an intensely aromatic scent. Note: Wear gloves when cutting and crushing, as skin contact can lead to irritation.

  • ✓ 10 forest-grade seeds – for reliable germination
  • ✓ Plastic-free packaging – in 100% compostable Seed-Cap with grass paper closure
  • ✓ Origin Germany – regional & sustainable
  • ✓ Evergreen & tolerant to pruning – ideal as a hedge & privacy screen
  • ✓ Winter-hardy & easy to care for – robust all year round

🌿 Package contents: 10 seeds | approx. 1 g | Seed-Cap made of grass paper
