The Balsam Fir (Abies balsamea) originates from the forests of North America and brings with it a very special magic: If you rub a few needles in your palms, a comforting, Christmasy scent immediately delights the sense of smell. No wonder it is so popular as a Christmas tree.
The famous Canada balsam – a traditionally used natural resin – is extracted from the resin of young trees.
