Spice Bush – Clove Bark, Strawberry Blossoms & Winter Hardy down to -20°C

Red blossoms that smell like strawberries, and bark that has a pleasant clove scent – the Spice Bush (Calycanthus floridus) is a true olfactory delight for all senses. It's no wonder that it's gaining increasing popularity in German gardens: as an ornamental plant in beds and pots, it is exceptionally decorative and develops blossoms up to 5 cm in size over the years.

It loves sun or semi-shady locations and is surprisingly robust: winter-hardy down to -20°C, it easily withstands harsh winters – though a protective fleece still gives it the best start. Over the years, it grows up to 3 meters tall.
